I have been on a blogging hiatus as I have been working like crazy on combining these 3 looney's into one bedroom! We currently own a home that is a mere 1230 square foot with 6 homeys living inside. We are overrun by little people! But I wouldn't have it any other way! Our plan is to sell and buy bigger down the road but we want to make sure we are able to buy exactly what we want. Not just settle. So being the insane person I am I have to create a space that is comfortable and appealing for all of us. I am all about utilizing every inch of space I can...but also not wanting to feel like the walls are closing in on us or cluttered!

Since Livy Joy was born she has been in our bedroom. But alas...its time for mama bear to be able to regain some sleep. I have tried to combine the squishy Mushy and our little boo bear. But. It wasn't working out so well! The squishy Mushy was turning into a sour ::{grouchy}:: dill pickle with being woken up so much at night. Lets just say...age 3...the joys that come with age 3 AND her not sleeping. Is any moms nightmare! To top it off, I was not enjoying the fact I couldn't use my glider to rock Livy back to sleep. I begged my husband to let me buy a bunk bed for the big kids room and we could store their beds (we LOVE them!) until we sell our house and then combine the big and the middles together. He said... "If you can find a bunk bed under $200. Then yes." Challenge accepted!

I found the bed. I came in $0.01 under budget {insert snicker here!} and I have been working like crazy to create the space I have been craving for them. I am loving the fact their room is more open and they have so much more room to play! I won't have an after picture for a while as we are in the throws of it all! I will share the before pictures and let you know I have gone through every inch of their bedrooms and have purged so much! It feels amazing! I am selling some things they don't play with anymore to buy other items I want to finish off the space. And I probably won't sleep much until I have it all just right! Isn't this picture your worst nightmare?! It was sure my nightmare!

Well everyone! The time has come! To share my FINISHED room with you all! You saw the before pictures HERE and have seen a few of the items I made for my room but how about the finished project?! I told you all that I was on a budget! We budgeted out for paint and the furniture which we purchased at Ikea (I LOVE it!). Anything extra I sold items around my home or in my room to be able to pay for.

First off when you walk into my room...you will notice that I repainted the walls AND the moulding! Goodbye wood moulding! I do not miss you! I used paint from Valspar (carried at Lowe's) and was highly impressed with them! I have always been a Kelly Moore Paint snob and unfortunately we do not have them in Oregon any longer so had to find something new! I tried lots of paint samples from various places and the quality and lack of smell from the Valspar Ultra paint and primer was unbeatable! It took a gallon and 1 court of Egg Shell based in the color Fountain Mist (I used my paint from my bathroom which is called True Turquoise and decided I wanted a light version of it so the rooms would flow nicely together!). The moulding (only took a quart and we have PLENTY left!) a Semi-gloss in the color Bistro White. In the picture above you will see that I added a mirror to my door ($5.99 at Target IN store...noticing online price is WAY higher!). And the picture above our door says Aleisha & Paul always kiss me goodnight. My sister special ordered it from Walmart of all places!

OH how I LOVE my new dresser from Ikea! I for once in my life can easily open a drawer and have LOTS of extra drawer space! It is a women's dream! (link to dresser is HERE) The green vase on top I already had and I bought the white decos you see at Ikea as well (HERE and HERE) One holds a votive candle and the other is holding some primroses!

My desk I purchased at Ikea and it saves me 6" in both directions! I cannot tell you how HUGE of a difference that actually is! I love this desk (found HERE You will notice that we built our hutch to have the shelves on the opposite side)! Its not gorgeous by any means but when we added the hutch on top we have so much room that it decluttered our entire desk area! Drawers and shelves galore! The down fall was our printer no longer fit our desk so we bought a larger shelf (HERE and the brackets are HERE) and it now holds my Silhouette Cameo and the printer! Its really nice to have it out of the way since they are both not used regularly! We got rid of our folding chair (or shall I say retired it to the garage with the rest!) and purchased a new desk chair. (HERE) It has made a huge difference for comfort as we sit!

I LOVE these little storage bins from Ikea!! They are magnificent!! (found HERE) The little glass jars I had originally found at Anthropology for $10.99 each. I wanted them SO bad but could not for the life of me chalk up the dollars for them. To me $33 for little glass jars to hold staples, change and paper clips didn't make any sense when I was on a budget. Low and behold. I went to Michael's Craft store and was walking around and what to my wondering eyes did I see?! YEP! Identical. I mean totally identical little glass jars for $3.99 each! I combined with a 50% off coupon and the rest is history! I love them! We had to get rid of our desk calendar as it was too large. But the back of the hutch is dry erase and magnetic! So I now have my lists and a small weekly calendar attached!

My desk feels uncluttered and organized! The shelf on the top of the hutch currently has empty picture frames that I will add pictures of Olivia Joy into!

We used the nightstand I already had (we purchased at Ikea and I no longer see it online) and the lights we had purchased years ago as well from Ikea. The star I purchased used and painted it the same white I used on the moulding! I paid a total of $5 for the star!

As you know I made the headboard (tutorial HERE) and I bought all new bedding! The bed skirt was $27 from Target. The throw blanket was $29 from Target and the duvet and 2 pillow cases that match were from Ikea for $39 (no longer seeing on the website). The throw pillows we already had!

My poor dear husband has a very small space in between the wall and the bed. We had a plant stand as a night stand for many years but I was sick of killing myself every time I made the bed as he leaves his books and magazines on the side of his bed! Solution? I had a friend of ours that is a builder and does an amazing job with making furniture build me a shelf from scraps he had from his own home remodel! I painted it myself with the Bistro white I used on the moulding! (took 3 coats) I also bought a small basket from Ikea to hold all of his randoms at the bottom of the shelf!

I love how bright and cheery my room is now! The curtains clashed with the paint color and the moulding we had in here before and I honestly cannot get enough of my room! The shelf I bought at Ikea (HERE) It contains adorable containers I found at Target to hold all of Olivia Joy's items! Clothing, diapers etc! It is PERFECT! Since this picture I added 1 more thing to it.

Isn't the chevron basket PERFECT??! I love it! It now holds all of Olivia's blankets (and as you can see we have officially filled the baskets!)

That's it! That's all she wrote! I find my room to be so cozy and its such an oasis for me! I now officially have room for the co-sleeper and we can move around freely without bonking into each other! Also the furniture we chose has a wide enough space to vacuum under the furniture! HUGE for me!! Its amazing! Now all we need is our 6th addition to our household!!

Have a blessed day!

I wanted to add a shabby chic, rustic element to our bedroom redo. So I found a whole bunch of various sized embroidery hoops at Joanne's Fabrics!

As you can see I had a very cute assistant! She loves to tag along! We also bought different fabrics. Including lace and a doily for extra added affect!

You are first going to lay out your fabric and set your center portion of your embroidery hoop down. You will then flip it over and put the top hoop layer over the top portion (see middle picture!) Tighten the clasp up tight and you will then...

Cut around the fabric leaving only a small amount (this does NOT apply to the lace! Cut the lace as close as possible!!) and then using a glue gun glue the edges down inside of your hoop! Its that easy!! Have a blessed day!

As you know I have been making sure I stay within a certain budget for the redo. Any extra after the furniture was to be taken from items I have sold on the Get er' Gone page I started (read the blog post HERE!) One of the things I really wanted to was to update my bedroom walls. The art wasn't really my style anymore! I have seen on Pinterest canvas' where they take wooden letters attach and then spray paint it white. Always its white! But I wanted something to go along with my room! So I used the paint that started the whole "color change" for my room from my master bathroom and created what you see above!

You will start with a bare canvas (I went with the 16x16 size I found at Joannes for $9.99. I then used a 50% off coupon!) I covered my counters with parchment paper and then painted with the bathroom paint I have left over a total of 3 coats. Letting each coat dry in-between. The paint is a semi-gloss sheen.

OK...so I had a preggo moment and deleted a photo of my placing the wooden letters onto the canvas! Oh yes, my daughter took it and you could see the big ol' belly hanging over as I worked on the floor!  GAH! Don't laugh too hard would ya! Anyhow...you will attach your wooden letters that are plain...wood (I bought the fancier ones at Michael's I want to say they were like $4 for a package and I used 2 to get all the letters I needed!) To attach the wooden letters I used trusty ol' E6000 glue. I added a heart too as you can see!  My fave go to for every craft project glue! I then let it dry a few hours before I painted just directly over the letters (making sure I got in the cracks really well etc!) And voila! there you have it! A very reasonable piece of art work for your wall! Have a blessed day!

I have to admit now...this is rather embarrassing to show my room before! We seriously work SO hard on the rest of our house and neglect ourselves! Our bedroom has been on my mind for the last 7 years we have lived her! It was a modge podge of just randomness we had when we got married! But with Olivia Joy's impending arrival we knew that it was time to do something. I had wood moulding (which isn't always a bad thing...but its completely NOT my style!). The walls were painted "Seattle". Which if you have ever been to Seattle, then you can imagine how grayish/brownish they were! I HATED our furniture! But. We made due with what we had! That was when the idea for my Get er' Gone group came to! (see the post HERE) I wanted to redo my bedroom. But. Like most families these days we are not made of money nor have we found the darn money tree to plant out back! So we budgeted $600 from our taxes for furniture and paint. Anything extra was going to be on me! I honestly think my husband was thrilled about this because it started me going through and selling items that have been sitting collecting dust in our home! I think its a guy thing! OK...so you ready for the embarrassing part?! UGH! Here we go!

This here is where you walked into my room. Yes...we have a t.v. from the stone ages! BUT it works and no we did not budget a flat screen in although that would have been awesome! OK...so here...I HATE the dresser! The folding chair, the moulding, the paint...well almost everything ABOUT this picture! HA!

Continuing down the wall...there is my desk from college. Messy of course cause everything is OUT in the open! You can see our laundry bins and a modge podge of mess on the walls! Ugh! Yes...that is my Silhouette Machine on top of the printer! Poor Daisy! { the kids and I named her when I got her last year! }

I love my one wall art (by the bathroom) and my lamps and night stand. The picture above my bed just doesn't match my vision and neither does our maroon bedding I bought in college! I plan on spray painting the frame of the picture and then you will see what else later on!!

One thing that needs to be fixed is we need a headboard. BUT on a tap water budget! I have a few tricks up my sleeve! OH and you see that teeny walkway? That is how my dear husband climbs into his side of the bed! Yep. That is a plant stand as a night stand and the floor is COVERED with books! He is a bookaholic! I wanted a shelf thing for him but couldn't find one in the dimensions I needed so I have a friend who is a contractor. He is building a custom one for me with scraps left over from his own home remodel! It will not be ready in time for the reveal...but it will be done hopefully in the next few months! I AM SO EXCITED!!

This area just shouts BRIGHTEN ME UP! I love my black out curtains though! They were a Costco find!!

Yes...that is wrapping paper! Its finally put away! Pile of taxes on the floor. Random out grown maternity clothes! Ugh!

Yes...this is a mess! HA! No better way to describe it!

So my big thing is this. Our house is 1230 sq foot. We have 3 bedrooms and I am not wanting to combine Olivia with the other hooligans yet! SO...she will live in our room for a while. We have a co-sleeper that attaches to our bed. I need inches. I need more storage for her stuff and ours as well! I can't wait to show you what we have been working on! As of right now we are currently LIVING in the mess! Olivia Joy is due in 6 weeks! So we are on the fast track to get it all done! If you are on instagram I post a few pics here and there! { britchesnboots } That's it for now! Now don't make too much fun of me OK! Have a blessed day!

I just love this picture my bestie Michelle of Chelletography took! Can't believe this was 10 weeks ago now! WOW! Things have been going great this pregnancy! I feel her move daily and she is a mover and a groover! We are SO excited for her arrival! My c-section date has been moved due to new hospital policies so we are having her on a Monday (April 15th) instead of a Friday (April 12th). I will be taking a few weeks off from blogging during that time as I tend to have a slower recovery from the surgery! But you can follow me on Instagram to see what we are up to (@britchesnboots). I feel like I have just POPPED out this week! I am 29 weeks! I decided to do a comparison of pictures over the past few months which was kind of fun to see! OH and if you didn't hear my announcement on Facebook, we have finally decided on the name! She will be Olivia Joy (so we have Emily Grace, Noah, Ava Faith and then...). Its been a tough decision for us (all but the middle name!) as we also loved the name Bekah! Its super sweet to hear my 2 year old call my belly "Livy" and the big kids are already calling her "Livy Love"!

I felt big back in these pictures! And then comes the next:

Because we live in a small home and are gaining a 6th person I will be doing an entire room re-do. THIS TIME...its my own! I am embarrassed that I am actually going to show you how Paul and I live...I mean our room is the ONLY room in the entire house we have done nothing to. We also have a desk in our room when Noah entered our world! So with Olivia's pending arrival I have been given the go ahead to re-do our room...but. We are on a budget! I am going to re-do our entire room for under $600 and that includes new furniture! I will post a before picture of my entire room soon and explain some of my ideas! Then when I am done I will show you the reveal! I can hardly contain my excitement! Something I have wanted to do for 7 years now! Last but not least a belly shot of me...29 weeks! Have a blessed day!
