I was invited to come to the NW Largest Baby Shower a few weeks ago. I brought one of my best friends with me and she brought her tiny bundle of love and seriously it was...AMAZING. (except the whole food thing...but I will get to that later!)
Everyone that is anyone in the baby biz was there. From Joovy (seriously I had no idea ALL that they carry! Strollers, play yards, bottles, sippy cups. It was awesome! And now I want like 5 more strollers. The high chairs Joovy sells. Oh. Em. Gee.) Posh Baby Boutique had a wide assortment of goodies. Gymboree Play and Music (the owners Mark and Leslie are two of the absolute sweetest people you will ever meet in your life. And I mean...ever!)
Ergo Baby had a line of people talking to them 99% of the time we were there! We were able to sneak some info and see a few of the new carriers and also were told about the new designs coming out SOON! If you do not know this already, you will now. Ergo is my absolute favorite baby carrier ever made. Hands down. I have had mine for over 7 years and it was one of the best investments we have ever made! High quality, amazing body support (the weight is evenly distributed across your hips making it so your shoulders and your back are not carrying the brunt of the weight. My carrier goes to 40 lbs. I can still wear my 3 year old!).
Mixie Baby Bottles (you saw the giveaway I did last week!) I am in LOVE wit them. Think Baby has the absolute coolest sippy cups/bento boxes/containers and even SUNSCREEN (which they gave me and I LOVE!)!! I was so impressed with their "thinker" system which carries your products from infant to toddler+. It's good for you, good for the environment and adorable too! Earth Mama Angel Baby was there and come to find out is an OREGON based company! I was so excited when I heard they are from Clackamas as I had no idea! I rocked a sticker for the entire show that told people I had been "nuzzled". I know you are thinking, "homey say whaaaaa?!" There is a NEW company out there called Nuzzle. For real it is the most clever and well thought out idea in the history of breastfeeding! If you have followed me awhile you know that I am a proud breastfeeding mama of 4. I kid you not I really wish I had learned about this company 7 1/2 years ago as I battled mastitis and thrush. You can see a picture above in the middle on the bottom. It's adjustable, hands free and made for not only engorgement, let down and tender breasts. But can be used for menstrual cramps, back aches, neck pain and so much more too!
From speakers like Liza Huber of Sage Spoonfuls (felt like a total nerd as I had no idea that she was the daughter of Susan Lucci and kept thinking...wow she must REALLY like soap operas when she would make a reference to them!) who talked about the importance of homemade baby food and how the qualities and textures are something you can't beat (I also had a picture with her...but I am so short next to her it's almost embarrassing!)
I am HIGHLY addicted to Britax and Bob Strollers. I own a Britax Boulevard, Marathon and Frontier. They are by far the best and most high quality made seats I have ever used. They are easy to clean, easy to install and my children will be stuck in a 5-point harness high-back car-seat until they are in middle school if it were up to me! I have seen first hand how this car-seat can save lives. When we were in our car accident and was rear-ended, I think the fact that my daughter had the head protection and 5-point harness despite being almost 7 years old saved her body from more trauma than she experienced. The seat's padding was torn which told us...it did it's job. I will never buy another brand again. AS for Bob...OH Bob. I had a duallie (double) jogging stroller at one time. I had to sell it as I could no longer fit it in my Swagger Wagon (Toyota Sienna) when we were having Olivia Joy and I cried. Like...blubbering tears streaming down my face cried, waving as the new owners drove away. But, a few weeks ago I got the Bob Revolution single jogging stroller and mama is in her happy place, once again! This stroller drives like a dream. I can steer it one handed and it turns on a dime.
This is me after 9 hours of baby shower fun and...no food. Oh yea, the place supposed to feed all 1200 of us. Didn't. Lame. BUT the vendors made up for that disaster with their sparkling personalities. Teething products by Camilia, skin care products by Weleda, Happy Baby food products, Clothing from Burdy Fly Away and an outfit I am DYING to share by Tender Wonder...your gonna freak when you see this thing on!
It was a wonderful day away with my bff. Shopping, chatting, learning and exploring. A huge thank you to Melissa of Itsabelly for not only the invite but the opportunity. Before I left she sent me with a Healthy Child parenting kit. Inside were products from Seventh Generation, Happy Baby food etc and so many amazing brochures with helpful hints and tips. It was truly an honor.
NOW...how about a giveaway?! Yep! A compiled grouping of awesome goodies from a few of the vendors!
