Dedicating Olivia Joy

Yesterday we had one of the greatest honors as a mama and as a Christian. We were able to announce in front of our church body, our friends and our families that we dedicate the life of our precious child Olivia Joy, to God. Christian parents who dedicate a child are making a promise to the Lord to do everything within their power to raise the child in a godly way, prayerfully until he or she can make a decision on his or her own to follow God. Parents who make this vow of commitment are instructed to raise the child in the ways of God, and not according to their own ways. We vow to teaching and training the child in God's Word, demonstrating an example of godliness, disciplining according to God's ways, and praying earnestly for the child.

We are overjoyed and blessed to be dedicating our sweet ‘Livy Joy today. She has enriched our family and completed us in so many ways! We think of her as one of God’s angel armies here on earth. We chose the life verse, Isaiah 55:12 - "You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands." Sweet child, you are so loved. This verse fits you perfectly. We sing our praises of Joy to the Lord God for you. Thank you for blessing us. We love you from the bottom of the ocean, to the moon and back.
