Do you ever struggle? No, like I mean REALLY struggle. Can't get out of bed. Can't answer the phone and go within yourself hiding away from the world? That is just what singer and songwriter Mandisa did after she lost her very dear friend and backup singer. She went MIA and spiraled into a deep 3 year battle of depression. You see Kisha was pregnant with her second child, when she was diagnosed with cancer. She battled. She fought and the evil, ugly c word took her just a year after her son was born. Mandisa began to question everything. Including the goodness that comes from God, as why would He let such a thing happen? In this moment instead of leaning on God...she locked the world out. She didn't listen to messages or answer the phone. She regained all of the weight she had worked so hard to lose. And she spiraled back into her old ways. Her weight gain caused her to fall deeper into depression.

But through this darkness brings glorious light. Mandisa has friends and family that simply never gave up on her. They were there when she was drowning. Her new life scripture is Psalm 40:2 "He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along." Her friends were the hands and feet of Jesus when she needed them most. From this renewal, this strength and this glory comes a FRESH new album.
